Multimedia resources to enhance educational learning.

Two multimedia resources displaying a different learning framework in educational technologies are Podcasting and Flickr (online images). The use of podcasts can not only support students who may be shy about public speaking but also give them a voice on topics they may have a passion for expressing (Richardson, 2010). Podcast assignments can be introduced to students as a fun, meaningful, and potentially profitable platform, and it could increase student completion rates. Podcasting reminds me of the culturally competent movie “You People.” With the cast bringing a funny perspective to the unspoken words, Jonah Hill, playing Ezra, was passionate about his podcast, providing him with a purpose and expression to understand another culture.

Flickr can bring an investigative nature into the classroom. If there is an assignment of collecting evidence from a different eye view, utilizing Flickr can show how its social software can bring students to engage together on the same item (Richardson, 2010). The best part about utilizing Flickr as a multimedia educational platform is that anyone can use it, regardless of a photographer’s background. Plus, it can be used as a creative expression instead of a verbal.

Thank you.
